Real Madrid are planning to offer Rafa Marin a new contract. Rumor has it that Los Blancos are interested in renewing the youngster, whose current contract expires next summer.
Marin’s recent rise in Spanish football
The 20-year-old spent time in Sevilla’s youth ranks before joining Real Madrid as a teenager back in 2016. He has been playing in the youth ranks of the Madrid club and is currently a key member of their Castilla team.

Marin has made a solid run of displays at the back for Los Blancos‘ B team, scoring two goals in 33 appearances for them so far. The Spanish prodigy is known for his dominance in the air and his ability to keep the ball for his team.
The Guadajoz-born prospect could be about to break into Carlo Ancelotti’s first XI. However, Marin currently faces an uncertain future at the Santiago Bernabeu as his contract is going to expire.
Real Madrid plan to offer Marin a new contract: is he a future prospect?
Marin is an excellent tackler who can time challenges well to keep the ball for his team on the defensive third of the field. He usually clears hazards when needed and can use his towering 1.91m frame to control opponent attackers in the air.

The Spanish center-back has got the potential to become one of the best players in his position. For now, though, his main focus should be breaking into Ancelotti’s first team.
Marin, 20, is still very inexperienced and needs time to get ready for top-level football. He is primarily a center-back, but can also play as a left-back if his coach asks him to.

It would be logical for Real Madrid to try to link him to a new long-term contract, as he has the ability to become a true fan favorite at the Madrid club in the future. Therefore, the Blancos should focus on going all out to secure the long-term service of this talented defender, as there is no doubt that he will be worth watching for the next few seasons as long as he continues to improve his overall performance each season.
