A report by Defensa Central reveals that Real Madrid will not resign Raul de Tomas in the summer transfer window as a result of lessons learned from the Mariano Diaz trap.
The Spanish international has been linked with a move away from Catalonia after racking up a fine goal tally in 2021/22.

Raul de Tomas netted 17 league goals at the RCDE Stadium last season and he could be tempted by the chance to play in the Champions League in 2022/23.
Previous reports from Diario AS claimed the 27-year-old is only interested in leaving Espanyol for one club, Real Madrid.
The interest from Real Madrid has stemmed from the uncertainties surrounding the futures of Marco Asensio, Borja Mayoral, and Mariano Diaz. It’s known to all that Los Blancos are on the hunt for a new striker in the coming weeks, with de Tomas also a viable target.

But Carlo Ancelotti insists that they won’t submit an offer to sign de Tomas as they feel they will be falling into the Mariano Diaz trap. Like the Spanish international, Mariano was a former Real Madrid striker who was an appealing target after a strong season away from the Bernabeu.
