To be honest, the 2022 summer transfer window is a very strange one for Real Madrid. Initially, there were rumors that the club were dueling Erin Haaland and Kylian Mbappe, two of the best players in the world. Not only did Los Blancos not sign either of them, but they were more focused on outgoing than incoming.
Yes, the club did bring two very good additions to the squad in the form of Aurelien Tchouameni and Antonio Rudiger. Both of them could end up playing big roles in Carlo Ancelotti’s side this season.
But on the other hand, a lot of experienced and quality players left the club. Gareth Bale, Isco, Marcelo, and, perhaps most importantly, Casemiro, are no longer at Real Madrid. Add in the fact that many of Real Madrid’s starters are over 30, and one could argue that the team is weaker than last season.

There are plenty of places on this team that could add more reinforcements, but the necessary additions haven’t been made over the summer.
The situation is far from perfect, especially considering how many additions Barcelona has added to their squad over the summer, and Xavi’s side are likely to compete again for domestic and European top-flight titles.
However, Ancelotti is full of confidence in his team.
Ancelotti has revealed that the club has not even considered adding more players this summer. According to the “Marca” report, the Real Madrid coach said:
We never thought about signing more players.
“In terms of leaving, we assessed Casemiro or [Marco] Asensio, but I’m happy because those who stayed have been delivering and will do so this year.
“There are a lot of players with only one year left on their contracts, but that’s not a problem.”
