Hazard’s efforts to rediscover his best form for Real Madrid have suffered another setback. He came on as a substitute for Vinicius Junior against Celta Vigo, with the Whites leading 4-1 and the three points all but secured. However, when the Belgian had the chance to take a penalty kick, he was given the chance to open an account for the season.

Unfortunately, Hazard was unable to convert from the penalty spot, which, while having no bearing on the outcome of the game, it surely would have been another blow to the Belgian’s confidence.
Hazard has had a difficult time since joining Real Madrid and has been outstanding for Chelsea. Despite his promises, he will turn things around and be back to his best this season.
Carlo Ancelotti, however, did not seem fazed by Hazard’s penalty miss and believes the Belgian is getting back to his best. As reported by the Herald, the manager said after the Celta Vigo game:
“Eden Hazard is getting back to his best and he has shown that. The penalty miss didn’t change anything.
“I’m happy Benzema gave Eden the penalty and it doesn’t matter if he misses. Karim played very well against Hazard, he played very little but showed he is coming back.”
Hazard’s return to his top form is fantastic for Real Madrid because at the top of his game he was one of the best players in the world.

During his time at Chelsea, he was simply unstoppable. Hazard has scored 110 goals and 92 assists in 352 appearances for the Blues, according to Transfermarkt. On the other hand, he played 67 games for Real Madrid, scoring six goals and dishing out 10 assists.
But is it possible for Hazard to get back to his best? The 31-year-old Belgian has struggled with injuries since returning to Real in 2019. It will be interesting, but at the moment there is a positive voice around him, which is certainly a good sign.
